Foodstuff Community host, VH1 VJ dies at 70

Bobby Rivers, an actor, Food items Network tv host, revered movie critic, radio identity, and “Black queer pioneer” has died. He was 70.

Heralded as “Milwaukee’s Black, queer media pioneer” by Wisconsin LGBTQ news outlet Our Lives Wisconsin, Rivers worked as a VJ on VH1 in 1985 alongside Rosie O’Donnell. In 1988, he went on to host his own celebrity chat clearly show on the cable new music channel, “View Bobby Rivers.” He later on hosted the late-evening relationship present “Bedroom Buddies.”

“After all these decades of working difficult, and getting treatment of my family, and making the Black and homosexual communities happy of me, and currently being worn down romantically by this solo act, I also had to offer with homophobic responses,” he extra. “I had a fantastic good friend who came out with me, and whilst we ended up looking at Bruce Springsteen at Alpine Valley, someone yelled ‘Bobby Rivers, what are you doing with a lady.’ It was relentless.”

Following his loss of life, Goldberg, 68, penned a tribute to her fellow television host.

“All hail this pioneer Bobby Rivers,” the “View” co-host wrote on Instagram next to a picture of the pair smiling. “He introduced SO much to the table. R I P Bobby.” 

Katie Couric, 66, also mourned Rivers on X (formerly recognized as Twitter), producing: “I am so unfortunate to listen to this. Bobby was a great dude and beautifully warm, humorous and intelligent.”

“And Just Like That” star Mario Cantone, in the meantime, posted a black-and-white image on X of the journalist. “Rest in peace Bobby. You had been these a superb supportive intelligent insightful guy,” he wrote. “You will be missed.”  

Turner Typical Movies also remembered Rivers’ contributions to the amusement sector.
