Berea’s Countrywide Rib Cook dinner-Off & Beer Fest

BEREA, Ohio — Donna Rice does what she is aware very best.

She’s the man or woman driving Desperado’s Barbecue and Rib Company. They are 1 of the 10 rib teams that competed at Berea’s National Rib Cook dinner-off and Beer Fest.

“This is hometown woman,” Rice explained. “It’s a hard competitiveness since if you like the Ohio taste profile of ribs, there is a great deal of us from Ohio, and so our ribs are very identical.”

Rice stated they took home the prize for “Best Rib” and “Best Sauce” at the cook dinner-off very last calendar year. This calendar year, Rice claimed, they squandered no time bringing in the awards.

Rice stated her rib group has gained competitions in 27 states.

“He explained, ‘I’ll come up with the rub recipe, or the seasoning, and you come up with the sauce,’” Rice included.

Rice reported her partner died in 2009, but she felt like it was crucial to carry on using the business to competitions.

“Well, it is a little something that we seriously appreciate,” explained Rice. “We like traveling across the nation, and assembly all of our buddies and that it’s kind of like a performing family reunion.”

It’s the feeling of loved ones that keeps her going.
